Easter and Budda

So even though I did put up some photos from dinner on Easter Sunday, I found one that I forgot that was from breakfast at my brothers place from Easter. Omg amazing pancakes!!! Which just ps were made from a Harry Potter pancake mix. HAHA. Love it! (the rainbow cupcakes to be featured later were also a HP mix. I'm a nerd and I'm ok with that!). Added to these pancakes were chopped up Easter Eggs! Oh Lordy they were amazing! Especially when eaten with maple syrup!! Delish!!!!

Also, at Southbank at the moment they are setting up for the Budda Festival - a great thing to see if you are around Brisbane when it's on! And Southbank looks amazing with all the lanterns everywhere! So pretty!

Photo Vomit

Some of the most perfect days are made up of a cup of tea and good music. Which is exactly what I had a work a few weeks ago. And I took a photo. See >>
But you see my issue is that I take photos and then forget to put them onto my computer which then means that I don't update here. So here comes some photo vomit! (Like actual vomit/word vomit, but with photos...)(also being viewed over a few posts - I'll do them by day)

So Alexis and I found the most perfect second hand book store in the city. And I'm in love! I could spend HOURS in there!

Look at those pretty pretty books. *drool*

I love this. It's an issue of The Strand from 1962!!

Chococoma

It is indeed Easter! And as per tradition I have had a lot of things that have forced me into a sugar high and a chocolate coma (ie chococoma). But it has been a wonderful day filled with family and food and Oreo Balls (otherwise known as Better than Sex Balls... and it's not really a lie...)

The table... after dinner. We did have pork, chicken, mashed potato [for me], potato bake [for everyone else], veges and gravy. Delish!!!!

Oreo Balls and Easter Eggs.

Bitten Oreo Ball - [to make balls] In a food processor put one pack of philly cheese and two packs of oreo cookies. Wizz it up. Put in freezer for about 5 mins to harden it up. Roll into balls. Put in freezer for another 5ish mins to set. Melt chocolate, roll balls in chocolate, put in fridge to set. We double dipped the balls so it's white chocolate and then dark chocolate. OMG!

Stabby cake.

Pacman eating a knife cake.

The boys were sleepy after all that food.

So I don't care who knows it, I love the show Hellcats, and this song was at the end of the last episode and pretty much Marti (the chick singing) has just found out about her father (I won't give it away just in case anyone wants to/is watching the show) but basically this is the song he wrote for her the day she was born. I love it. It's amazing and sweet and just beautiful.

Good Friday

I never really quite got why it's called "Good", because Jesus is killed and everyone is sad... What is good about that?
Anyway, this is just from this mornings youth presentation of The Stations of the Cross at my church. I used to be in it every year... but now I'm old and so I just go and watch it. Like an old person. Although where I was sitting I couldn't see it all. Oh well. It was still a beautiful presentation.

blahhhh

I didn't even realise, but I've been sitting here staring at this blank screen for about 20mins... That or I fell asleep at the computer again. Which I did three times at work today! Well not fall asleep at the computer, but I fell asleep sitting at the tables outside work... And I'm sure that at some point I had something amazing to say, but alas alack I have forgotten what it was. Poop. [randomly I love the word poop :)]

Anyway. After a long LONG day today [headaches, hurty wrist, and sleepyness] I came home and had nachos for dinner and then chocolate and tea for afters while watching Being Human, which by the way is amazing!!!!!

Poop.

It's growing.

So before any of you make any dirty comments about what exactly is growing... I'm talking about my camera collection. Mum found a super aweseome cannon for me today for $4!!! Super excited!! Now I just have to get some film for it! I love film cameras! You just never know what you are going to get! So here is my collection - Helga Holga, Jerry (my digital camera) and my yet to be named Filmy. Maybe something like Peter. Or Stephen. Or George. [see what I'm doing there?]. Also you can see all of my Twilight books and where all my Harry Potters SHOULD be, but are currently scattered around my room... oops...

Next I give you my crazy dog Eddie, who has been featured in a few posts recently. He was jumping all over me that afternoon [just excited to have me home from work I guess - note the milk covered shoes... hmmmm...] and to keep him on the ground I clamped him with my legs. Gosh I love that crazy mental dog. I swear sometimes he thinks he is smaller than he actually is. Really does think he is a lap dog. He. Is. Not. He is HUGE! lol. Oh well...
So my sister has decided that every day for "blah blah blah" days [to be honest I stopped listening to her while she was talking about this project, but I caught the main points] she is going to take one photo each day for something she is grateful for. I was her first photo. Nawwwwww shucks. I feel all spesh and stuff.
To explain the wardrobe choice considering it isn't really that cold in Brisbane yet... The folks and I [ie Mum Dad and T] went to the beach the other night for fish and chips. But it was all rainy and really REALLY windy that night and was FREEZING!!!! Oh my gosh it was freezing. So glad of my beanie and my Melbourne jumper!!!! But I really like this photo! But all photographic rights go to T. xx.
And finally. Last Friday once I got out of work it had FINALLY stopped raining and all I wanted to do was eat Torts [YUM!!] [which by the way were free because I found $10! I love finding money! Best Ever!!]. So I went and got my lunch and sat at the Torts Statue [Alexis and I named it that because thats where we eat Torts... Inventive, no?]. But we usually sit on the other side of it, but it was all wet there, so I decided to sit on the side we never sit on. And wow! Best view!!! For those people that would like to know, this is in Post Office Square looking over ANZAC Square and up to Central Station.

xx h

Ps. sorry about the shoddy quality of these photos, they were taken on my phone which likes to be weird and do some unusual things to my photos sometimes.

Foggy Days

So I was greeted with an amazing view this morning! I left home at 6.20am and the park across the road was COVERED in fog. And it was chilly and beautiful! What a wonderful morning. It's morning like these that make the slighly muggy day that follows all well worth it.
AND I HAD FOG BREATH!!! Best thing ever! I love foggy breath! Best thing about the cold!!!
LOVE IT!!!!

And then after work [and a lovely lunch at Wagamama] Alexis and I headed to a costume shop, mostly just to giggle, but also to check out the masks they had there. I found one that I feel makes me look like a glitterly verion of Elijah Wood in Lord of the Rings : Return of the King when Frodo and Sam have dressed themselves in the Orcs clothing so they can get through to the fires of Mount Doom. Haha. It makes me laugh!

Clearly I forgot to bring another shirt with me to get changed into after I finished work... And so I once again made a fool of myself in my uniform. Hmm...

Ps. How creepy do my eyes look?!?!? I'm thinking it's half because of the mask, but mostly because I'm not wearing my glasses...

Thats all. xx H

Sunshine and Shadows

Just out for an afternoon with my Mum and Dad and my dog Eddie. And a cup of tea to make it just perfect! What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. And tomorrow we will hopefully being going for a drive to watch the sunset somewhere. Maybe up to the mountains. Never know where we will end up.
And I've come to realise that thats exactly what life is; you never know where it will take you and where you will stop. But one day you will and you suddenly realise that everything is exactly where it should be and everything is perfect. It's just sad that getting there is such a big job and sometimes seems like you won't survive it any longer. But you will. And as the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy says "DON'T PANIC" everything is going to be just fine.
Even more fine now that I have these photos from my afternoon in the park. There were quite a few more taken, but they were all of my crazyass dog. So I'll just leave you with these.
Enjoy your days and smile.
